The Dance Archive

The Dance Archive advances education and engagement with resources across all genres of dance and movement, with an emphasis on the American West.

01 Identity

Carson Brierly Giffin Dance Library at the University of Denver needed a complete rebrand — with a name and brand that increased awareness and matched the level of resources provided to the community. Prior to renaming, many in the community were unaware that the University of Denver was home to one of the region’s most expansive collection of dance archives and resources. With the selection of a more descriptive name, the team at Peak worked to create a mark that captured the movements of dance, while also representing the social fabric, diversity, and inclusion of all dance style resources at the library.

The Dance Archive website design and build

The moment we conceptualized the new logo for The Dance Archive, we couldn’t wait to bring it to life in a brand new website — where their vibrant and fluid components could showcase the diverse dance resources at the library. This is where the saturated colors and dramatic imagery come to life.
